The Dawn Of A New Day is a collection of poems that bring insight and awareness to everyday living.

The Dawn Of A New Day is a collection of poems that bring insight and awareness to everyday living. These poems are shared experiences of how the world looks through the eyes of someone who got a second chance in life. I share my rebirth to a new day and all the wonders that came with it. The sharing of daily experiences from the hardship of the aged, the dreams of the young to Veterans and their story, and how time or should I say How Old Father Time waits on no one. The principles that some are judged by and the morals others live by. But through prayer and faith in the Lord He will continually bring us through to that Dawn Of A New Day. I thought this would be a befitting title to follow my previous book After The Storm Is Over, because after the storm, The Dawn Of A New Day, brings calmness and growth. All praises to God, for the same one who holds The Heavens in place - Also guides Our steps. I pray that these poems will inspire, bless and comfort you.

Around-the world poems by travel-writer/poet born in an Iowa farmhouse to Dutch immigrants. Artist Jean McKeon asked the poet for 31 poems to put into calligraphy. Using 16 different alphabets McKeon made the voice of each poem sing. These songs range from Timbuktu to California, from the Red Sea to the Colorado Rockies. They connect landscapes (Israel to Iowa), characters (Pa to Me), legends (California snowstorm to Portugal blossoms), one generation to another, & sky to earth. Reviewers say, "The poet is grounded in her landscapes." On a mountain in MEADOW SYMPHONY: "If I stand up/my body will become/a lightning rod./Waiting flat & still/under the falling cloud/I am grounded./I know where I am./the rain will pass." "Some poems sight into the future, some into the exploratorium of self." One reviewer's favorite is the waltz between PA & ME that: "grinds to a halt. Gently I push, hear/blades hiss on ice, ground out steel/from his clenched teeth: I'll do it myself." Reviewer: "Her characters tell stories." "My only daughter is walking/uphill on cobblestones/Through the Jaffa Gate/Into the old walled city." "The entire work seems lit at dawn & glows afterward. A new, broad, comprehensive view of the innovative poetry of the late, great Trappist monk and religious philosopher Thomas Merton. Poet, Trappist monk, religious philosopher, translator, social criticthe late Thomas Merton was all these things. Until now, no selection from his great body of poetry has afforded a comprehensive view of his varied and largely innovative work. In the Dark Before Dawn: New Selected Poems of Thomas Merton is not only double the size of Merton's earlier Selected Poems (1967), it also arranges his poetry thematically and chronologically, so that readers can follow the poet's multifarious interrelated lines of thought as well as his poetic development over the decades, from his college days in the 1930s to his untimely accidental death in Bangkok in 1968 during his personal Eastern pilgrimage. The selections are grouped under eight thematic headings"Geography's Landscapes," "Poems from the Monastery," "Poems of the Sacred," "Songs of Contemplation," "History's Voices: Past and Present," "Engaging the World," "On Being Human," "Merton and Other Languages."
