But Brad shook his head, deadly serious. “He's the devil in human form, Jeremy, I'm telling you. ... It's a deadly harvest of evil, that's what it is,” Brad said. Again, the dog howled. “Time to get you back to your room, Brad,” Jeremy ...

A dark legend comes to life When a young woman is found dead in a field, dressed up as a scarecrow with a slashed grin and a broken neck, the residents of Salem, Massachusetts, begin to fear that the infamous Harvest Man is more than just a rumor. But out-of-town cop Jeremy Flynn doesn't have time for ghost stories. He's in town on another investigation, looking for a friend's wife, who mysteriously vanished in a cemetery. Complicating his efforts is local occult expert Rowenna Cavanaugh, who launches her own investigation, convinced that a horror from the past has crept into the present and is seducing women to their deaths. Jeremy uses logic and solid police work. Rowenna depends on intuition. But they both have the same goal: to stop the abductions and locate the missing women before Rowenna herself falls prey to the Harvest Man's dark seduction.

During the last decade of the twentieth century, the Central African Region, which includes Rwanda, Burundi and the Congo, has been devastated by internecin strife and wars. The United Nations, desperately seeking solutions to the region's problems, have arranged to send an elite team of consultants, led by Dr. Michael Goodman, to investigate. Arriving in Rwanda the team find murder and mayhem commonplace, the economy virtually in collapse and a pervasive feeling of despair gripping the country. Undeterred, Goodman, his associates including two undercover UN intelligence officers, set out to identify potential rehabilitation and development projects. One such is a botanicals processing plant, originally a great success, but now shut down for lack of raw materials. Clandestine investigation of the latter uncovers a rogue group of mercenaries secretly planning to enter the international narcotics trade. Guarded by heavily armed trigger happy soldiers, huge quantities of coca and poppy have been planted in the Parc Des Volcans for later harvesting and conversion into cocaine and heroin at a nearby processing plant. Knowing time is running out the study team resolves to take immediate action. Risking their lives, and those of the farmers and game wardens in and around the Parc, they succeed in burning the raw material stocks awaiting processing, destroying the growing crop, and deporting advisers from overseas drug cartels. All this while recommending the establishment of a National Development Corporation for the benefit of the people.

God is calling the Church out of the wilderness of unbelief and into His promised land of faith and abundance. Unbelief: The Deadly Sin speaks of how this sin has robbed many of their destiny and inheritance in Christ. This book will inspire you to take hold of what Satan has stolen from you. In every area of your life, it will teach you how to apply biblical principles that will set you free from your past and from the strongholds of Satan. God's desire is to fully restore us to deepest intimacy with Him through repentance and a total surrender of our wills to Him. He is calling His Church to rise up into a greater power and authority through the power of the cross, and to walk in mighty signs, wonders, and miracles. Jesus is calling forth a "Joshua generation" a holy "remnant" in this hour that will walk in power. The sacrifice will be great, but the rewards of surrendering everything to Jesus will far outweigh the losses. God's inspired prophetic words in this book will awaken a new passion and desire in your heart to take hold of God's end-time plan and purpose for your life.

Like other fictional characters, female sleuths may live in the past or the future. They may represent current times with some level of reality or shape their settings to suit an agenda. There are audiences for both realism and escapism in the mystery novel. It is interesting, however, to compare the fictional world of the mystery sleuth with the world in which readers live. Of course, mystery readers do not share one simplistic world. They live in urban, suburban, and rural areas, as do the female heroines in the books they read. They may choose a book because it has a familiar background or because it takes them to places they long to visit. Readers may be rich or poor; young or old; conservative or liberal. So are the heroines. What incredible choices there are today in mystery series! This three-volume encyclopedia of women characters in the mystery novel is like a gigantic menu. Like a menu, the descriptions of the items that are provided are subjective. Volume 3 of Mystery Women as currently updated adds an additional 42 sleuths to the 500 plus who were covered in the initial Volume 3. These are more recently discovered sleuths who were introduced during the period from January 1, 1990 to December 31, 1999. This more than doubles the number of sleuths introduced in the 1980s (298 of whom were covered in Volume 2) and easily exceeded the 347 series (and some outstanding individuals) described in Volume 1, which covered a 130-year period from 1860-1979. It also includes updates on those individuals covered in the first edition; changes in status, short reviews of books published since the first edition through December 31, 2008.
